Notes on Milan FW: 1 expected, 1 surprise

Expected: John Varvatos. √

Bringing Central Park on the runway Milan, John Varvatos proposed an edgy collection with sophisticated rock-n-roll sensibility.

I was sure that John Varvatos would make a great runway show and they did. I love everything about it. The designs, the concept, the details… Perfect for urban and cool guys s always. The palette of colors gives the sense of autumn perfectly. Military khaki is the signature of the brand. The warm chocolate colour seems so romantic to me. On the other hand leather makes it a though guy look which always work for women. J
John Varvatos mas is a man with a great fashion sense in slim cut trousers and large and sometimes oversized coats.

Surprise: Fendi

I don’t know why but I have never seen Fendi as a cool guy’s brand. The runway in Milan made me swallow my words though…
I was amazed by the fabrics, which turned out a playful one. According to – exact quote ‘Pinstripes were actually laser-cut three dimensional additions. What looked like corduroy was actually leather or sheepskin. While leather and suede melded into one on a bag, or the top of a wool sweater would finish in fur.’

Patchworks on coats and bag as accessories created a cool and well-designed look for men. Oversized coats appear on Fendi’s show too which I like a lot. It was also like 50 shades of brown, which was suitable for an autumn look as it was in John Varvatos show. Chunky scarves and more casual looks stole my heart. Here is my favorite one... Oh, the coat!...

SPOTTED & INSPIRED: Cable Knit Shawl Collar Jumper

Adam Gallagher sporting Nautica Cable Knit Shawl Collar Jumper & Plaid Button Down.

I have always been a big fan for Shawl Collars and always hated turtle neck jumpers. So today's style advice is inspired by Adam Gallagher's street look and his Nautica jumper.

It's one of the must useful garment. You can wear it at work, on weekends, for bars, restaurants, and for any casual occasions. Just wear a shirt inside, throw a blazer over the jumper and layer shawl collar over the blazer. Here is the key of art of layering! :)

It's cool, it's warm, and it's an wardrobe essential!

Leather Jacket Rules for 2014-15!

No men’s wardrobe is complete without at least 2 leather jackets. It’s not a question of age or size. It is a MUST! Why? Because it’s a wardrobe heritage that will never go out of fashion! It’s a big trend since 1950s.
Besides it’s so equal to biker and bad boy/though guy look, which is always the biggest attraction for women; and also guys.
Leather is sexy. Leather is quality. Leather is a man essential…
Leather jackets has always been considered to be among menswear’s greatest staples.
After saying many good things about leather I have to add that leather trousers are not as welcomed as jackets. In fact don’t wear them at all.

As I mentioned that leather jackets are in fashion since 1950s it’s tricky to keep the style updated which means that the cut of the jacket is crucial.
  1. No aviator cut
  2. Bomber style is the best!
  3. Biker jacket always cool!
  4. Coloured leather jackets are bold and trendy.
  5. No leather jackets with faux furs anywhere.

There are many ways that you can rock your leather jackets in the most trendy way.
  • Backpacks are one of the ways for an urban street look.
  • Opting for a brown leather jacket is an easy way to lend vintage-inspired design.
  • Trainers or cool biker boots would be the clever choices with your leather jacket.
  • Beanies. It’s not just with leather jackets. Always wear a beanie in winter. That’s what cool guys do. :)
  • Combine it with your office look. It looks really good.  (You can see how it is done by Benjamin Eidem)
